    Climate change is real. There is no doubt about that fact. It’s visible all around us;

    • unusual weather patterns,
    • extreme weather,
    • earth quakes,
    • forest fires,
    • floods, the list goes on.

There are many factors that can affect our weather, from solar flares to volcanoes erupting causing massive ash clouds, and of course, God. These factors can’t be controlled by us humans, but it doesn’t mean we can’t still be responsible stewards of the earth we live on. We can do things such as investing in new technologies that can convert waste to energy, or simply finding personal ways to reduce waste and do things more efficiently.

There is also a fear that if we don’t do anything, then the world as we know it will come to an end. This obviously raises a lot of concerns, and so it should. Indeed, the world is going to end, and it does seem to be closer than ever before.

People on a whole, need something to believe in. Usually it is one of the many religions of the world, but often it is some worthwhile cause or worldly treasure that is sought out.

    • Saving the animals.
    • Saving the planet (Climate Emergency)
    • Stop using fossil fuels
    • Pursuit of extreme wealth

Children are ingrained with the need to belong, to belong to a family. Unfortunately not all children have good homes, and this affects how they grow up and we can see this in their behaviours as they become adults. As we grow up, this need to belong, to be a part of something, never diminishes - it’s such a basic instinct that we can never get away from it. God created us, and we belong to God.

Without God in our lives, there is a void that needs to be filled. People live in a folly where they believe that they themselves, can fill such void with some worldly cause. But it will never be enough, that need or desire will never be satisfied. No matter the amount of wealth, or the number of protests

In Romans 8, we can see that without God in our lives, we then focus on the things of this world. But, when we have faith in Jesus Christ and have His Spirit within us, we live of the Spirit instead of this world. This means that Jesus fills that void in our lives.

Let’s go through an example. We have a game show with 2 contestants, Contestant A and Contestant B and they have an opportunity to win some money by playing any of 5 games within a time limit. Each contestant can play any number of the 5 games, and money earned in each game will be transferred to their final total when a save point is reached. If a contestant changes to a different game, only the money up to the last save point is kept.

Contestant A looks at the 5 games and finds he is somewhat familar with 3 of the games but of those 3, only confident with one of them that he could make lots of money. So Contestant A starts with his first game. After a while, he's made some good money to start, but it's been a while since the last save point

So, if we are trusting in God, if we are seeking first the kingdom of God, in everything that we do, God will provide all things that we need. And we don’t need to worry how is it all going to work out in our lives (this is a big burden that is removed when you trust in God), or in the world (such as the climate). This doesn’t mean that we can sit around doing nothing, expecting God to provide everything that you desire. Just as we have to be good stewards of the earth, we have to be good stewards of our lives that God has given us.

This also doesn’t mean that bad things aren’t going to happen in our lives. If everything was perfect - every moment in life was pure joy, it would become tiring, or worse, you come to believe that the success is something that you have brought along yourself. Without sadness there is no joy.

Psalm 31:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

As we live day to day, we go through our perso

Now, people will start to think, can I still be a Christian, and follow the persuits of my dreams, take on worldly causes? I can manage both!

    WRONG

In Matthew chapter 6 we find this:

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

22 “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light.

23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

24 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon."

There is only one true cause, and that is to be a believe

We can see the prophesy of the end times in Matthew 24. Like the leaves blooming on a tree as a sign of spring and coming summer, so are the events occuring on earth.

    • Wars and rumors of wars
    • Forest fires
    • Heat waves
    • Flooding
    • Earthquakes

These signs all point towards the final outcome. But when will the end come?

Matthew 24:36-39: "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be."

To understand the end, we will have to look into the book of Revelation to expand on what John was privileged to witness as yet to come:

Revelation 1:1-3: The Revlation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants-things which must

We don’t know, we aren’t given any specific timing in the Bible, when the Seals are being opened, but if you look at the world today and everything going on - we can find a place where it fits.

The first and second Seals: conquering and conflict on earth could be happening now. Especially when we see the current conflicts with Ukraine and Israel. There is movement on the world stage with China, Asia overall, and Europe, to re-shape and gain control of sovereign nations. It’s only going to get worse.

The pandemic of 2019 is a good example - and we see the World Health Organization stepping in with a new treaty (not yet accepted, but still in the works) that would give them global control on pandemic declarations and how each country responds - basically giving up control of sovereign health care to a world organization. Eventually we will have a one world government and a one world currency. There are many pointers or indications in the world today that the end of the world is near. At some point the world is going to be in such turmoil, that someone taking charge and claiming to unite the world in peace will seem such a welcome change and be widely expected. Be wary and watch for this - it will sway a lot of people, even many believers. How quickly were we willing to give up our freedoms when Covid came through - and that was a small scale experiment to what we will see next.

There is a lot more in the book of Revelation, but that will be my next book. The question on everyone’s mind is: What can we do? What can I do to help make a difference in the world?

Remember we talked about the void that people need to fill in their lives? The search for a cause that they can get behind and try to bring change to society as a whole?

Climate Change has been around for a long time. I grew up with the 3 R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and then it became Global Warming. Though I remember when I took a weather course as part of my degree at Mount Royal that the earth rotates through periods of warming and cooling.

If you’ve noticed, almost every natural disaster is now accredited due to climate change. Polar ice caps are melting, which changes the ocean water temperatures, which affects the weather systems, which affect us and our land. Every natural disaster is being used as a call to activism, to push people to join the cause of fighting climate change.

When we think “climate change” there is a common name that pops up - Greta Thunberg. One of her favourite calls to action is to reduce the amount of fossil fuels - to the point of not using them at all. They try to sh

When we look at the Electric vehicles and the wind generators. I don’t think people realize the raw resources that go into building a wind tower, or the batteries used in the EV’s. The processes are probably more damaging than drilling for oil, yet I never hear one complaint about the environmental cost of these “green” solutions.

Which begs the question - are there larger motivations behind these agendas? When the Covid lockdowns occurred, it was a big social control experiment. The company I was working for at the time would fire anyone who did not get their Covid vaccines. People reporting on each other for spending time in a group. Travel restrictions based on vaccination status.

Here is a good link on social controls in China as a good example: Social Credits

Lastly, climate activists are fighting for something that they have no control over. Remember we read the prophecy in the Bible that natural disasters are going to increase as we near the end. Do people honestly think that they themselves, have the power of God, to affect the climate of earth by some piddly actions that they take?

Satan knows how the world is going to come to an end, so he is selling a lie to people that if they just work hard enough, invest in enough new technologies, then the end of the world that is coming can be prevented. Instead, he is trying to destroy our economies and our lives - paving the way for the one world government to step in and take over.

Now let’s take a look at the real solution!

There is a decision to make. As we mentioned earlier in this book, you can choose to live of this world, or live of the Spirit of God.

Matthew 7:13-14 - “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

There is a fork in the road, a split in the path; which way will you go? One path is wide and easy, and well travelled. Often our instinct is to follow the crowd - if people are going that way, that must be the right way to go. But if you know that the end of that path leads to destruction, to eternal damnation, wouldn’t you choose the other path? Wouldn’t you try to warn people not to go down the easy wide path?

Yes, narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to eternal life - it’s not going to be easy - Christians are persecuted around the world. In North America we have it pretty good, but the time

How do we make this decision? How do we choose to go down this narrow path?

    Let’s look at Romans 10:

8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.

12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”

There is a simple prayer, called the “Sinner’s Prayer” - you can look it up on the internet - though it is a good prayer to pray to accept Jesus into your life - it is often misused as the only thing you need to do to be saved.

In this book I have touched on and highlighted many different scriptures from the Bible (NKJV) though it’s a small fraction of the Word of God. The world is going to come to an end, and the climate is changing - all part of God’s master plan.

You can ignore everything I’ve brought to light, continue down the easy path and try to live your own life, fill your own voids - but it will never be enough.

If you have made the right choice and have accepted Jesus, first, welcome to the church - fellow son or daughter of God! - secondly there is a lot more to explore and understand in God’s Word - the Bible.

If you look in John chapter 14 and 15, Jesus promises a Helper, the Holy Spirit, that will be with us, the Spirit of Truth, the Comforter, the Teacher. As you grow in your faith, seeking God, seeking in God’s Word, God will show you things and provide the answers you are looking for. Start with the New Testament.
